Library Duty

Volunteering in the Library Resource Center (LRC) is a fantastic way to support our school while spending quality time with your child and their classmates during their weekly library visit. As a volunteer, you'll assist our wonderful librarians, Erica Harney (K-3rd) and Jennie Caniglia (4th-8th), with reading, returning, and shelving books. It's a fun and rewarding experience that makes a big difference!

New Guest Reader Opportunity:

This year, we're thrilled to introduce an exciting new opportunity for our wonderful library volunteers: becoming guest readers during book check-out times! After students have picked out their books, they can join in for some extra storytime magic, guided by our volunteers. This is a fantastic way to keep the fun going, especially for our youngest book lovers who aren't quite ready to read on their own. Whether you're helping little ones explore their chosen books or sharing a pre-selected gem from our library, your role will add a special touch to their reading experience. We can’t wait to see the joy this brings to our students!

Use the link below to sign up for grades K-3. For grades 4-8, contact library@mcds.org for more info.
